US Macroeconomist

**Pay:** $50-$70 per hour (USD). Location: United States (Remote) Compensation:$50–$70 per hour Employment Type: Freelance / Contract **About the Opportunity** micro1 is looking for experienced US-based macroeconomists and macro strategists to support a new project focused on US economic data, monetary policy, and financial market analysis. We are seeking professionals with backgrounds in sell-side or buy-side macroeconomic research, investment strategy, central banking, or government economic institutions. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Analyze and interpret US macroeconomic indicators, including GDP, inflation, employment, and other economic releases. 2. Evaluate economic data published by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). 3. Work with historical economic datasets and data vintages, including ALFRED. 4. Analyze US Treasury yield curves, interest rate movements, and monetary policy expectations. 5. Interpret Federal Reserve communications, including FOMC statements, meeting minutes, and Summary of Economic Projections (SEP). 6. Apply macroeconomic expertise to research and analytical tasks. **Requirements** 1. Professional experience in macroeconomic research, economic strategy, monetary policy, or fixed income research. 2. Strong understanding of US economic indicators and Federal Reserve policy. 3. Familiarity with BEA/BLS economic releases, Treasury yield curve analysis, and FOMC communications. 4. Experience working with economic datasets and historical data revisions. 5. Strong analytical and research skills. 6. Must be based in the United States. **Preferred Backgrounds** 1. Sell-side or buy-side macroeconomic strategists 2. US macroeconomists or monetary policy economists 3. Former Federal Reserve or US Treasury economists 4.
